What’s New in Allot Lines Center: Smarter Release, Licensing and Takedown Controls

We have introduced a major set of Allot Lines Center updates to make release submission faster, improve rights compliance and give users greater control over their catalogues. The updated workflow brings release metadata, supporting licenses, expiry dates and takedown controls into one connected process.

A Clear Six-Step Release Workflow

Every new release now moves through six structured steps:

  1. Track Level
  2. Product Level
  3. Licenses & Legals
  4. Delivery Options
  5. Splits
  6. Review

Licenses & Legals is now a dedicated step instead of being included within Delivery Options. This change makes it easier to review rights documentation before a release is submitted.

The former Release Level step has also been renamed Product Level. This terminology better reflects the product-level metadata required by digital music services.

Smarter Track Properties and License Requirements

Track Properties can now be selected directly within Track Details. Properties include cover recordings, remixes or derivative works, samples or stock material, free beats, mixes or compilations, and AI-assisted content.

When a property is selected, Allot Lines Center automatically identifies the relevant license requirement. This reduces manual selection and helps prevent incorrect documentation from being submitted.

Important: A supporting license or legal document is mandatory for every track with an applicable Track Property. A release cannot be submitted until the required documentation has been provided.

Upload and Manage Multiple Licenses

Users can now upload multiple licenses during the same release workflow and apply each license to the relevant tracks. Licenses may also be uploaded separately outside the release builder to supplement an existing product.

The Licenses area can therefore be used as a central repository for:

  • Storing license agreements and permission documents
  • Connecting licenses to products and individual tracks
  • Recording licensors and validity periods
  • Reviewing active, expiring or expired rights
  • Updating documents when rights are renewed

This creates a clearer operational record of which rights support each release.

License Expiry, Renewal and Scheduled Takedowns

Licenses can now have a validity start date and expiry date, or be marked as perpetual when they do not expire. When rights are renewed, users can update the applicable license information to maintain compliant distribution.

If a license expires and valid replacement documentation is not provided, the associated track or product may become subject to takedown. This helps ensure that content remains available only while the necessary distribution rights are valid.

Users can also select “Does this release have an end date?” under Delivery Options to schedule a product takedown in advance. This is useful for time-limited licenses, seasonal catalogues and releases covered by fixed distribution terms.

Faster Audio Uploads and Previous-Release Verification

Multiple audio files can now be uploaded at the same time, reducing repetitive work when creating an EP or album.

The updated workflow also asks whether a product has previously been distributed. If Yes is selected, users must provide the original UPC and ISRCs for verification. Reusing the correct identifiers helps stores recognise the original product and recordings and may support continuity where permitted by each service.

Improved Catalogue and Takedown Visibility

Additional catalogue statuses now provide clearer information throughout the release and takedown lifecycle. Products approaching an end date will be highlighted through dashboard alerts and email notifications. Relevant products will also be prioritised in the catalogue so they can be reviewed promptly.

Users can now delete eligible releases directly and hide products that have already been taken down. These controls provide a cleaner overview while allowing users to focus on active catalogue items.

What You Should Do Next

Log in to Allot Lines Center and review your catalogue. In particular:

  • Confirm the correct Track Properties for new submissions.
  • Upload supporting documentation for every property requiring a license.
  • Review license validity and renewal dates.
  • Add an end date where distribution rights are time-limited.
  • Keep original UPC and ISRC information available when transferring a previously distributed release.
